, LA HABANA VIEJA (LA HABANA)
The Hotel Palacio Cueto is a true architectural gem that is reminiscent of the buildings designed by Antoni Gaudi, Lluís Domenech i Montaner or Josep Puig i Cadafalch in Barcelona, Spain. It is inserted in the Historic Center of Old Havana, on the corner that intertwines Inquisidor and Muralla streets in Plaza Vieja, the colonial heart of the capital city.
The building housed a warehouse and a hat factory until the 1920s, when it was rented by José Cueto, to whom it owes its name, to turn it into the Hotel Palacio Viena. The Palacio Cueto exhibits magnificent stonework and elegant grandstands linking the first two floors. Its wave-shaped balconies can pay homage to the work of Gaudí, who always tried to ensure that the nature that surrounded him was present in his works.
